About the event
The esoteric use of plants, also known as herbs, has been customary for millennia in sacred rituals of all religions and spiritual practices. Herbs can be used not only for their medicinal properties but also for their spiritual affinities. Examples include the Japanese Tea Ceremony in Zen Buddhism, the use of sage for purifying spaces and people in Native American practices, sacred cacao for Mayan and Aztec civilizations, and the olive tree, branch, and oil in Christianity and Judaism.
We will begin class with a sacred Cacao ceremony facilitated by Mariscela Alvarez. After the ceremony, we will explore the spiritual qualities and gifts of several herbs. We will then set our own intentions as we choose our perfect combination of herbs and assemble sacred herbal tea bags to take home.
