A Little About Me:

I consider myself very blessed to have been able to follow my passions in life. I started in the work force as a certified nursing assistant- working with both seniors and developmentally disabled young adults while attending college and trade school. My first passion, since I was a small child, was to work as a veterinary nurse, with small animals. In 1993, while still in school, I started working as a veterinary assistant, and In 1995 I realized my childhood dream. I finished school and passed the state board as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Moving into veterinary medicine was everything I had hoped it would be! I gained so much experience and had the opportunity to work in both clinical and hospital settings. I was also employed by the California Horse Racing Board for several seasons as their evidence clerk for the equine drug testing barn at the Cal Expo harness racing in Sacramento, CA. I have so much gratitude for my time in the veterinary field.
In the year 2000, I became interested in massage therapy. I decided to follow that passion and enrolled in the Healing Arts Institute school of massage, in Roseville, CA. Upon graduating in 2001 as a Certified Massage Therapist, I had the amazing opportunity to gain a lot of experience, setting up my massage chair in an empty room at the vet hospital and practicing on my veterinary colleagues (almost 100 of them!) after my shifts. In 2003, I shifted to a part time veterinary position and rented a room in a chiropractic office, where I could start my business, Erin Colvin CMT. I never would have imagined that within 18 months of working both as an RVT and a CMT, that I would pivot away from the veterinary field and move into a full time massage position at The prestigious Robie House day spa in Auburn, CA. It was exciting and scary at the same time!
In 2006, I left The Robie House to open my independent massage therapy office, Erin Colvin CMT.
After many years of contemplation, I made the lifestyle change to veganism in 2012. My compassion was growing, with watching and witnessing the immense suffering of livestock. Still wanting to be close to animals, I had been volunteering at several farmed animal sanctuaries, and the stories of the suffering that these sentient beings endured before their rescues was heartbreaking for me! I was also very concerned about wanting to dodge the health problems associated with the standard American diet and having animal products on my plate (Heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure). After witnessing my profound health improvements as well as the emotional freedom I felt from knowing that I was doing my part to ease the burden of animal suffering that comes with removing animal based products from my diet, I felt compelled to obtain the necessary credentials to help others do the same!

Back to school in 2016, to receive specialty certification in Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. And graduating at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, in 2018.
Flashing forward these 25 years, I still enjoy my life as a Healing Arts Institute Certified Massage Therapist and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master, while adding Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching to my business.
I am passionate about health! My own health, the health and wellness of others, and the healthy environment of this beautiful planet we all call home.
In August 2022 I published my first children's book, titled My Favorite Season is Spring! It is available at most book stores and online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple Books, and Target.
